What Are Diabetic Foot Problems? (Signs And Symptoms)

Diabetes is a disease in which high blood glucose levels over time can damage the nerves, kidneys, eyes, and blood vessels. Diabetes disrupts the vascular system, affecting many areas of the body such as the eyes, kidneys, legs, and feet. People with diabetes should pay special attention to their feet.

Diabetes often leads to peripheral vascular condition that inhibits a person's blood circulation. This leads to narrowing of the arteries that often start to significantly decreased circulation in the lower part of the legs and the feet. Poor circulation contributes to diabetic foot problems by reducing the amount of oxygen and nutrition supplied to the skin and other tissues in the lower extremities, causing injuries to heal poorly.

Eventually it will become what we call, diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
